Many of us receive an email from our electric companies or co-ops with statements for our energy bills coming due. It’s around the time of the month (or billing cycle) when I start looking for my on-line bill.
These days, I am stashing the bucks aside to pay the high heating bills from this very cold winter, and, indeed, I did receive one such email on February 13, 2014, but it was not from my electric co-op.
I noticed that my account number was incorrect, the billing date was from yesterday, and the co-op’s logo was not on the email.
So, heads up – another web scam is in the ethers.
