I recently came across your site after hearing about some of the side effects of aspartame.
I have been using diet products since I turned 18 – I am 22 now.
I was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic, so I had to find something to satisfy my sugar cravings, right? I never realized there would be such consequences.
I was drinking around 2 liters of Coke Zero per day.
In all honesty, I was buying everything available as a diet product, and I used Equal.
I am diabetic, right? But Coke Zero was my big one.
Shortly after my diet changed, I became depressed and I isolated myself from everyone around me, and I began to see a psychiatrist.
I was diagnosed with Severe Depression Syndrome, as well as General Anxiety Disorder, which I have come to live with as a “permanent disability” for the past 4 years.
I even dealt with suicidal tendencies.
Within the last year or two, I have noticed another “bundle” of medical problems. I began having severe headaches sometimes lasting up to several weeks, a lack of energy as well as a lack of mental alertness, uncontrollable muscle spasms and tremors throughout my body, fatigue, and restless leg syndrome.
I fear being diagnosed with yet even more problems, but I now have a strong suspicion that some if not all of these symptoms are related to aspartame.
I am very glad to have found your site, and I hope to try your detox program when I have some funds available. I hope my story assists with your research and by all means, use it to help others.
I will keep you informed on the results of your detox. I have high hopes, and I believe in your research 100%.
Thank you for your understanding and your incredible work.
From Dr. Hull
Thank you for contacting me. Your story is, sadly, like so many we receive at The Hullistic Network, so you are not alone. And you are so young!
But, being young and Type II diabetic, you have time to turn this around and restore, over time, the damage aspartame has done.
What you are not told by the product advertisers or your doctors is that you can also control your diabetes better without these toxic sweeteners.
Sweet ‘n Low®, saccharin, never caused cancer and the warning has been removed. So, if you MUST have a diet sweetener, saccharin or stevia are fine to use in moderation. The saccharin scare was merely a political marketing deal.
Sad, but true.
If you try the whole foods brands of stevia products, you will find your blood sugar remains lower.
Watch your simple carb intake and your intake of fake fats, eat smaller meals more often throughout the day, avoid ALL chemical sweeteners, other than saccharin or stevia, and try to get more rest and walk, swim, bike regularly.
You CAN turn your life around. If you can read a copy of my book, Sweet Poison, you will feel as if you are reading about yourself – really!!!!
If I turned my health around, you can, too. You’re already doing it!!!
