Are you taking a statin drug? I’m sure that you probably know someone who is.
A couple of decades ago, statins were a very popular drug that doctors handed out like candy. They were initially prescribed for older adults, but today, people in their 20s and 30s are now prescribed statins.
Well, a study in Sweden* showed that statins don’t work.
The research was a population-based study performed on 3,922,094 Swedes who were using statins from 1998-2000. The dose was increased over the study period, and the results showed that the statin drugs, even when increased, provided no benefit in preventing heart attacks.

Research Outside The USA
When I was researching the history of aspartame, I discovered that the best research today comes from outside of the USA. Scientists have proven over and over again what American researchers can’t seem to get straight – they proved that aspartame is harmful to human health, that GMOs are harmful to ALL animals, and now, that statins don’t work.
The pattern with the history of aspartame, the history of GMOs, and the history of pharmaceuticals is that research studies done outside of the United States show that American pharmaceuticals, American food chemicals, and GMOs are toxic.
This results in the big corporations discrediting American studies and claiming that they are flawed; they hire PR firms to propagandize the safety concerns.
Typically, these corporations simply ignore the foreign studies if they aren’t in their favor.
Here we go again today with the COVID debacle. What is the truth behind the origin of COVID, the mask mandates, and now the vaccines?
What Are Statins
Statins are a class of drugs that attempt to lower blood cholesterol levels by blocking the enzymes in the liver that are responsible for making cholesterol.
High cholesterol levels contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, a condition in which cholesterol-containing plaques form within arteries. These plaques can block the arteries and reduce the flow of blood. If the plaques rupture, a blood clot forms on the plaque and further blocks the artery and the flow of blood.
If the blood supply to the heart is reduced, then a heart attack can occur. If the blood supply to the brain is reduced, then a stroke can occur.
Have you noticed that people using statins always seem to need more of them over time, and at higher and higher doses?
The most common statins prescribed are Zocor®, Pravachol®, Lipitor®, and Crestor®. An April 2013 study at Key Laboratory of Endocrinology, Ministry of Health, Peking, China and Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, China found that 17 percent of patients taking statins reported side effects, including muscle pain, nausea, and problems with the liver and nervous system.
This foreign study’s results were 17 percent higher than the 5 to 10 percent reported in American “corporate controlled trials” submitted for regulatory approval.
Common Side Effects
The most common side effects from using statins are:
- headache
- depression
- muscle aches or pains
- joint pain
- sleep problems (insomnia or nightmares)
- constipation
- nausea
- stomach pain
You can count on your doctor writing you more prescriptions for these side effects.
Natural Statins
Nature’s statin drug is B3 niacin, and yes, there are studies to support this.
Niacin is one of the B-Complex vitamins, and has long been used to increase high-density lipoprotein (HDL), your “good” cholesterol. HDL cholesterol helps sweep up the “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein [LDL]) and triglycerides from your bloodstream.
Although niacin is readily available, inexpensive, and effective, it hasn’t gotten much attention compared to statin drugs.
I have written numerous articles about B3 niacin that you can access in my newsletter archives, and I provide a lot of information about niacin in my free Detox Program e-book. (Scroll to the bottom of the Homepage for the link.)
All the best in health!
