The next time that you cut your finger notice that once your body stops the bleeding, healing doesn’t take place until during the night when you are asleep.
It’s miraculous that your body heals when you’re sleeping. Why does it do this?
During the daylight hours, you are active, both physically and emotionally. Your body is producing glycogen for energy, it is digesting food, eliminating waste, thinking, reading, listening and talking.
Your body is laser focused on activities during the day when fueled by serotonin, so it doesn’t have time to heal a cut. It waits until you get out of the way during sleep.
Notice the next time you catch a cold or the flu – what does your body want you to do? It wants to sleep.
Also pay attention to how much quicker you heal when you rest and take a few days off to sleep more.
This applies to sprains, bruises, infections, broken bones, surgery, insect stings, allergens, colds and the flu.
So, if you injure yourself or if you are getting sick, make sure to sleep as much as you can – get out of the way.
Let your body heal during sleep.
