I was raised in the South by really great parents. I’m adopted, as you can read in Sweet Poison, but how lucky am I – my mom and dad were the best parents anyone could ever have.
Mom and dad raised me to publicly avoid 2 topics – politics and religion.
Never discuss your opinions about politics or religion with anyone, they advised. Listen to us. Just don’t do it – never go there.
They were right, but in today’s world and in my business, sometimes that’s hard to do.
I try my best.
That said, I felt that I needed to post this; let’s say I’m doing it for her rosary.
Standing Tall In The Heaviness
Dr. Hull, I hope you don’t mind if I share this – it was powerful.
I just passed by Planned Parenthood, and there was a woman standing outside with a rosary in her hand.
I can only imagine that she was praying for everyone inside of that building – everyone who felt the need to go to Planned Parenthood – and for the souls that may never come back out of that building.
It was pretty heavy to think about a woman who has given up her day to go pray in front of Planned Parenthood. I don’t care what her agenda was, but I appreciate that she is putting good energy into something that could possibly be a horrible experience for somebody.
It was powerful.
There’s a heaviness in the air around these places. She stood in that to pray for others. That’s bigger than herself.
That’s the hard work.
