Most of you have heard of quercetin by now – it’s one of the key supplements used to prevent COVID, and it’s recommended to take if you’ve been jabbed.
Let’s dig into why quercetin is such an effective supplement.
Quercetin is a very effective antioxidant that can detox free radicals in your body. Your cells can be damaged if you have too many free radicals. Antioxidants can remove free radicals and prevent them from damaging your cells.
Quercetin and Your Heart
Quercetin has been shown to help protect your cardiovascular system against damage from things like the COVID vaccines. Your diet is very important in reducing your risk of heart disease, and eating foods that are high in quercetin supports cardiovascular health. Quercetin can help reduce high blood pressure, too.
Quercetin and Your Lungs
Quercetin is a flavonoid, and flavonoids help boost resistance to infections. This includes both bacterial and viral infections – yep …. quercetin can help fight viruses.
One of the outstanding benefits of quercetin is detoxing your respiratory system – it assists your lung health, and this is a primary concern from COVID.
Quercetin and Inflammation
Many health issues can be sourced to inflammation, and quercetin has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties, which helps reduce inflammation from muscle strains, over-exercising, insulin resistance, IBS, and COVID.
When you combine quercetin with NAC (N-acetyl cysteine), you get even more COVID protection.
Foods With Quercetin
Fruits, berries, and vegetables are the primary food sources of quercetin, particularly citrus fruits, apples, onions, parsley, sage, tea, and deep-red wines.
Olive oil, grapes, dark cherries, and dark berries such as blueberries, blackberries, and bilberries are also high in quercetin plus other flavonoids.
As with most herbs, medications, and supplements, it’s good take periodic breaks from taking quercetin. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, and people with kidney disease should avoid doses greater than 1 g per day of quercetin for long-term use.
In today’s toxic world, increasing your quercetin is a good idea if you need some help with inflammation, lung health, or COVID.
I use NOW’s Quercetin with Bromelain, especially during these days of COVID floating around.
Take a deep breath – you’ll get through this!
