Dear Dr. Hull. I was wondering how to handle a bad pollen allergy in my 14 year old daughter. I don’t want her to grow up on allergy medications.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
From Dr. Hull
Pollen allergies can be really tiresome – sneezing, headaches, and watery eyes can wear you out. It’s hard to watch your child go through it, and I respect you not wanting to keep her on allergy medications.
Pollen is a live protein that is not “digested” by your body, so the proteins stay alive inside of your body. When they penetrate your nasal passages, they eventually get into your head, ears, and eyes.
I’d improve her digestion of proteins, and supplement with a digestive enzyme that does that at least once every day. Wobenzym-N is a wonderful whole body enzyme used in many countries to remove toxins outside of the stomach. It is available on the web, and in high-end health markets.
It is used in cancer treatments in Germany, and is best known for removing unused bone nutrients from outside of the bone causing joint pain and arthritis, and it will remove these live proteins.
Then, have her take a dunk in the ocean as much as possible to get the salt water up her nose and in her eyes. If you are not by the seashore, have her do a Neti Pot or a saline nasal flush several times a day until the allergies are gone.
The salt will kill the proteins.
She probably won’t want to do this, but this is the best, natural way to rid the body of protein allergens in the sinuses, and to avoid OTC allergy meds that are going to dry her out and create dependancies. She can snuff salt water as often as she needs to daily.
Thank you for being such a smart mom. I hope this helps.
