Q: My In-And-Out Flush
Hi Dr. Hull. I am emailing because I am confused.
While on your detox program, are there any specific foods to avoid?
One day I have a good flush, but the next two days I only have small ones. Then nothing for two days. Then oh my – I’ll have another good flush. Some days I feel bloated and just do not have a happy tummy.
So I was just wondering if it is something I’m eating.
A: A Successful Detox
Great observation. These in and out flushes are caused by the toxins that are reacting to the niacin. If toxins have been there for a while (years typically), they deposit in your tissues and organs in layers.
You can compare this to sediments layering in a creek bed.
As the niacin removes the top toxic layer, you’ll feel the flush more as it carries the toxins out of your bloodstream
When the niacin addresses the next layer, it has to break the layer up in order to remove it, and as it is breaking the next layer apart, you won’t feel the flush as much because there is no residual niacin left over.
