Q: Hello, Dr. Hull.
I was wondering if I could learn about the detox program without doing the hair analysis first ...
I have been addicted to diet soda for at least 40 years and decided since visiting your website that I must stop drinking Diet Coke and consuming 5 hour energy drinks before I do the hair analysis – right?
I have been losing clumps of hair for almost a year now and I assume my addiction to these poisons is the reason. I don’t want to to cut a sizable chunk of what hair I have left for the hair analysis, although I would love to know the results and get some answers.
I could provide pubic hair for the lab test, but isn’t head hair better to use?
So, can I bypass the hair analysis and just start on your detox? What should I do?
Please advise. Thank you.

Great questions, Baldy!
It’s fine to detox at any time, but the primary purpose of having a hair analysis done first is to know exactly what you’re detoxing and to see how the toxins have affected your vitamin levels.
Firstly, yes – stop the Diet Colas and the energy drinks ASAP. You should notice an immediate improvement by doing this.
Secondly, begin detoxing now. Removing the toxins in these soda chemicals will make you feel better, but heads-up – you may initially have flu-like symptoms as your body removes them over the next week to 10-days. So detoxing is important at this time.
Don’t panic – it’s the sugar, methanol and formaldehyde leaving your body organs and tissues. And remember that it’s OK to get sick – we’ve forgotten that since COVID.
That said – you can detox without doing a hair analysis, but the key to the hair testing is to uncover the sources of toxins that you probably have no idea are circulating throughout your body. If you can identify the sources, you can more easily remove them.
You see, there’s little good in detoxing if you turn around and replace the toxins that you are trying to remove. If you’re high in mercury from old, leaking fillings, for example, or high in lead from old pipes in your historic house, it’s good to confirm this.
The hair analysis provides great information, and uncovering new information helps accelerates healing.
Many people submit pubic hair. I actually like using this type of hair sample because it exposes deep tissue and longterm toxins. The head hair is preferred by most labs because it provides a more common consumer profile of your essential vitamin balances, which tells the story of what you are doing in the present.
Your health history is what I like to see, and your pubic hair provides a longer term history, in my opinion.
So,
- stop using toxic drinks and food products;
- begin detoxing ASAP;
- submit a sample of pubic hair, equal to one tablespoon;
- you should notice an improvement in your health quickly.
Again, the primary purpose of the hair analysis is to uncover the cause(s) of disease and to identify the root sources of toxins that have penetrated your body, which can cause disease.
All the best with your new lifestyle!
