We are all told that aluminum is unhealthy and extremely toxic to your brain, but that’s not correct. Not all aluminum is toxic to your brain. Not all aluminum causes memory loss or Alzheimer’s. How do you know which form of aluminum is good or bad for you?
All aluminum today is lumped together as a neurotoxicant, which contributes to cognitive dysfunction and may contribute to Alzheimer’s disease. The most important reason for this assumption is because aluminum can enter and deposit inside of your brain. You need to distinguish between organic forms of aluminum and inorganic forms, and which ones do contribute to memory loss.
THIS is the difference.
Some types of aluminum are healthy for you. Organic aluminum is necessary for a healthy nervous system, and for brain and heart function.
Your body has aluminum wiring much like the electrical system in your house. But, are you high or low in the right kind of aluminum? And what form of aluminum do you need to maintain a healthy nervous system and heart beat?
I never see anyone low in aluminum on the hair analysis, and, you definitely don’t need extra aluminum if you are high in it.
Aluminum is highly reactive, so in Nature it is virtually never found as a free metal; aluminum is commonly found combined with other minerals like iron, copper, magnesium, and sodium.
The True Meaning Of Organic
Let’s start here – it’s important to understand the difference between organic and inorganic. An easy way to understand this difference is to consider organic as naturally found on the Earth versus inorganic, which is manufactured by a person in a lab using synthetic ingredients.
Organic compounds are produced by living organisms and they have carbon-hydrogen covalent bonds. Inorganic compounds are derived from nonliving components. They generally lack carbon-hydrogen bonds, and rarely, if ever, contain any carbon atoms.
All animals in the wild (including human animals) are carbon beings and they eat organic foods that contain carbon atoms – they graze on grasses, they eat nuts and berries directly off the trees and bushes, they catch and eat fresh, raw meats and fish, and they drink pure, spring water from creeks and stream beds.
This is the true meaning of organic. Inside all soil and water environments, organic forms of the 99 elements on the Periodic Table can be found. Every living thing on this planet is made from the same substances found on the Earth, and these substances come from the 99 elements on the Periodic Table.
We have all 99 elements inside of our bodies, and all these 99 elements serve a purpose to keep us alive, but only when eaten in organic form.
Eating Aluminum
There is a purpose for aluminum being inside of your body. It is a brain nutrient because it supports your nervous system and supports the signals that your brain sends throughout your body.
Your nervous system can be compared to electrical wiring in your house. Your nerves are like cables that carry electrical impulses between your brain and the rest of your body. These impulses are what help you feel physical sensations, move your muscles, and maintain certain autonomic functions like your breathing, sweating and digesting.
Much like house wiring, your nerve cells send signals using electrical chemicals, like aluminum and copper. To help the chemical signals travel quickly and safely, your nerve fibers are wrapped in a fatty layer called a myelin sheath. Your house wiring is also wrapped with insulated materials to protect the chemical signals as they travel quickly and safely.
The most popular cables today feature interlocked armor made from aluminum. Can you see now that aluminum also has a purpose within your nervous system? But only aluminum in organic forms.
Aluminum In Food
Organic Sources
You virtually never see aluminum as a free metal in Nature – it is typically combined with other metals. These metals are found in spring water and are absorbed through the root systems of plants from the soil. These are some organic food sources that are high in aluminum:
- coffee beans
- root veggies and edible roots like carrots, radishes, potatoes, yams, ginseng, celery, parsley, horseradish, ginger
- spring water
Inorganic Sources
The most common foods that contain inorganic forms of aluminum (typically added as an additive) are:
- processed cheese
- baking powder
- cake mixes
- frozen dough
- pancake mixes
- self-rising flours
- pickled vegetables
Inorganic aluminum is used to manufacture:
- beverage cans
- pots and pans
- airplanes
- siding
- roofing
- cooking foil
- explosives
- fireworks
Hair Analysis
I don’t like to recommend specific vitamins or minerals for you unless I have done a hair analysis to see what nutrients you are high or low in.
If you are high in aluminum, you more than likely have been exposed to inorganic aluminum. Your body won’t assimilate inorganic elements because it knows that manmade nutrients are not nutrients at all, and typically, your body will reject them.
Your body can process organic forms of aluminum because it uses the aluminum to support your nervous system and your heart. Hence, your aluminum levels won’t be high in your hair if it’s in organic food form.
Don’t be afraid, either, of taking a quality, whole foods multi-vitamin 4-5 times a week. And don’t avoid trace minerals or drinking spring water filled with essential elements, like aluminum. Remember that you need all 99 elements found on Earth to secure your health and wellness – in its natural, organic forms, that is.
Providing your body the essential nutrients calms hyperactivity, anxiety and stress, keeps your immune system strong, and prevents disease.
Sometimes your body needs more than just a multi-vitamin, and instead of guessing what vitamins and minerals you need, learn exactly what your nutrient levels are, like aluminum.
Remember that not all aluminum causes memory loss. You still need nutritional aluminum for healthy brain function. Remember that!
