Hi Dr. Hull, I have a question for you – what the heck is MTHFR? I recently mentioned to my doctor my concern about elevated B12 levels, and he mentioned that it is a symptom of MTHFR. I recently did some lab work, and I have attached the results for your review.
For the last couple of years it has been my quest and goal to work on my high lab numbers. Of course, the ultimate reward would be to maintain a healthy weight and lab numbers. I make sure to exercise 30 minutes a day. Now I’m diagnosed with MTHFR.
What the heck is this disease? My doctor talked circles around a direct answer to me.
I have kept a spreadsheet of my lab results since 2015, but apparently my data is not taken seriously since all my doctors request the same blood work. My point – besides my cholesterol being a roller coaster ride, everything else is normal.
So what’s this MTHFR? Are they just looking to label me with something?
My concern, personally, has been my elevated B12. A while back, my lab work showed my thyroid levels and my ALT were elevated, so my doctor wanted to put me on medication. I declined, and now my levels have returned to a normal range.
My husband and I did do your detox program and a parasite cleanse. He is less compliant than I am, but I have been keeping up with your modified detox program for a few years. Maybe I am just removing toxins, but I feel like I had a reaction to the B-Complex vitamins.
I developed angular cheilitis on the corners of my lips so I stopped taking the B-Complex, and I haven’t had it occur again.
My husband has recently been suffering from vertigo. My poor husband has had one issue after another, but thankfully his retina issue is resolved. Is vertigo the cause of him having too much calcium in his body?
I’m hoping that the next lab report can shed some light and offer additional avenues that we can implement in our detox, and hopefully we can assist our bodies to become healthier.

Wow. You’ve got lots going on. Keep following your instincts, especially now, but keep researching so you can get some answers.
Let’s look at MTHFR, which I call The Mother F***cker Disease.
MTHFR is supposedly a gene mutation, but it’s controversial and conflicting because the data reported on MTHFR doesn’t make sense and seems to change all the time. And why is it just now showing up in people of all ages? I’m not seeing any solid research on it, either.
Personally, I think it’s a “new catch-all label” for reactions to GMOs, nasty MRNA vaccines, diet sweeteners, rancid oils, and sub-standard processed foods found in everything nowadays.
More and more people are getting labeled with MTHFR lately, and I want to know know why this wasn’t an issue in the past. I am not saying MTHFR isn’t real, but I question why suddenly this is becoming such a common disease.
If it’s a gene mutation, I’d think you would have had symptoms as a child.
Serious MTHFR mutations are few and far between, but over this past year, 1 out of every 5 clients tell me that they have just been diagnosed with MTHFR.
Rare, huh?
This is a brand new disease label that I must research more thoroughly because, again, I think it’s a “catch-all basket” for reactions to chemicals we are all unknowingly exposed to, especially if you’ve had the COVID boosters.
It is common sense to avoid highly manufactured foods (gluten) and to say no to very questionable vaccines (COVID boosters and flu shots), and questionable medications (like statins). Not to mention food chemicals and chemical spraying in the air.
We are like pin-cushions these days, and our health reactions are not surprising. They are even associating MTHFR with conditions like autism. I don’t think they know what they’re doing, and right now, I feel the medical community is looking for a scapegoat.
I think detoxing is a key for all of us today. When I first started researching The Mother F***cker Disease, I discovered that those with MTHFR can not process synthetic folate (a general term referring to the manufactured forms of folic acid, B9). B12 seems fine with this condition, but you might avoid all products with added or fortified folic acid, which is the synthetic form of vitamin B9 found in fortified supplements, breads, cereals and commercially produced flours.
We all should avoid processed foods that have synthetic nutrients added to them.
That said, why didn’t this “reaction” affect you in your previous years? Something has triggered this reaction, and I don’t think it’s your genetics – I think it’s a response to a genetically altered man-made substance, like the COVID and flu vaccines, GMOs, and chemicals you are exposed to that you may not even be aware of.
Does this make sense?
As far as your lab numbers go, don’t let them drive you crazy … it seems they keep changing them to meet AMA standards – just like they keep changing the cardio standards for pilots today because so many pilots lost their licenses to fly after taking the COVID vaccine due to heart reactions.
I think our AMA has gone off the rails.
Your reaction to the B-Complex can be a reaction to B9 if you indeed have MTHFR, but don’t jump to the conclusion that you have MTHFR – maybe, maybe not. You ARE reacting to something, though.
Concerning your husband’s vertigo, vertigo is going to relate to inner ear issues, low blood pressure, or low blood sugar; who told you it had a connection to calcium?
I hope this sheds some light on this. You have provided lots of info, but bottomline, detoxing and eating a whole foods diet is the key to focus on, exercise daily, and avoid all chemicals if possible.
MTHR – is this the latest health canary in the coal mine?
