If everything in your life is going great, do you relax, take it all in, and expect that it will continue, or do you wait for the next shoe to drop? Things are going too good, right? Something bad has got to happen … just wait for it.
It’s harder to stay positive than to be negative. We’ve forgotten that life can only get better when positivity is what you’re focused on.
When I was diagnosed with an incurable disease in 1991, I transformed what could have been a very devastating experience into a positive one. Don’t get me wrong – staying positive was much harder than being a victim. Who stays positive when you’re told you could die if … if … if you don’t quickly do what the doctor tells you to do?
I set out to find what made me sick and with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. I was confident that I could make things better, and I did! I’m glad that I journaled my healing journey because I would have forgotten so much, and I wouldn’t have been able to help others stay positive who may be following down the same path.
I wrote Sweet Poison and my 10-Steps To Detoxification ebook to share how I cured my disease, and to help you understand that staying positive does work! As much as my doctor tried to prepare me for the other shoe to drop – it never did!
I want to stress the importance of Step #10 in my detox program. I am a big believer in the mind-body connection, and if you are going to truly heal from a disease and believe that your life can only get better, you must believe it and fight to stay positive.
Your thoughts are a very powerful thing, but if you stay positive, you can change your life in a very positive way. I will admit, though, that being positive is much harder – personally – than being negative.
Negativity is like an addiction – it can loom in the back of your mind. If you get depressed watching mainstream news, as an example, flip it off and turn on a video channel about remodeling historic houses. This will inspire you to paint your kitchen or redecorate your office.
Turn the negativity that’s so popular today into something positive. You can drastically improve your daily life and health by refusing to drown in negativity. There is always something positive to balance the negative.
You choose which to focus on.

Step #10. Get control of your life
You must not neglect the fact that healing from a disease or illness takes faith, personal strength, and perseverance. A book I highly recommend is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
Born into a family of natural healers and raised in rural Mexico, Ruiz was mentored by his mother, a healer, and his grandfather, a native shaman. For more than a decade, he has taught the ancient Toltec traditions, blending ancient wisdom with modern-day personal awareness.
I respect Ruiz’s work and I practice “The Four Agreements” myself to stay balanced within my daily life. I pass these on to you because I believe that to resist disease requires ongoing positive emotional and spiritual discipline.
Be impeccable with your word.
As Ruiz writes, speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
Don’t take anything personally.
What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
Don’t make assumptions.
Find the courage to ask questions and to expect what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
Always do your best.
Your best is going to change from moment to moment each day; it will be different when you are positive as opposed to being negative. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you can avoid judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
As you recover from any illness – or any challenging event – your entire life can change for the better as a result. You can experience a refreshed emotional outlook as a positive side effect.
I developed my Ten Step Program to help you stay positive about your health and your entire life. Don’t get depressed by the multi-trillion dollar entities keeping you a slave in the modern-day world.
Removing toxic chemicals, medications and negative thoughts from your life is merely the first step to living a positive lifestyle. As you experience positive changes day by day, resist falling into looming negativity. Begin living everyday with positive thoughts.
Stay positive – you’ll never go back to waiting for the next shoe to drop!
