One of the most important processes in the human body is the balancing of pH levels. Body pH measures the number of hydrogen ions in a solution within your body. The pH scale ranges from 0-14. Anything below 6.4 is acidic while anything above 6.4 is alkaline for average body pH. Please note, body pH is slightly lower than the pH of blood and the pH of fresh water bodies.
An acidic pH has a low ability to attract hydrogen ions, while an alkaline solution has a high ability to attract hydrogen ions. “p” stands for potential and “H” stands for hydrogen. In other words, it is the potential of the body to attract hydrogen ions to secure balance and health. Each solution in the body has its proper individual pH.
Dr. Hull writes about these differences in detail in her pH Video Course, which is available for free.
