People ask me all of the time why aspartame is still on the market if it has been proven dangerous to your health.
Good question.
As I wrote in Sweet Poison, there is plenty of reputable research proving many different health effects caused by aspartame use. The research proving aspartame dangers began in the 1970s.
Apparently, they have gone ignored.
Here’s One For You
In December 2007, an experiment was done in vivo. In vivo means that research is done in the body of a living organism as opposed to a laboratory, petri dish method that does not use the living organism as the host of the test.
The aim of this experiment was to investigate the biological effect of aspartame on key oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.
Hum. Sounds pretty significant to me.
Previously published research that I included in Sweet Poison showed that among rats receiving aspartame, a significant increase of lymphoreticular neoplasms, brain tumors and transitional cell tumors occurred.
Hum. Sounds pretty significant to me.
In this 2007 study, after one week of administrating various doses of aspartame to CBA/CA female mice (p53) c-myc, Haras gene expression alterations were determined in individual organs.
In other words, the results showed an increase in gene expressions concerning all the investigated genes especially in organs with a high proliferation rate, which are your lymphoreticular organs, bone-marrow and kidneys.
Hum. Sounds pretty significant to me.
Conclusion
Aspartame has a biological effect, even at the recommended daily maximum dose.
What does this do during pregnancy?
What does this do to a developing infant?
What does this do to a child in puberty?
Aspartame has been proven over and over again to be a dangerous food chemical, yet we are told that it’s perfectly safe to keep using it – even during pregnancy.
Stick with me, guys and gals, and spread the word to those you know who still use the stuff.
