Your thyroid is an important key to your health.
Your thyroid produces hormones that affect almost every cell function in your body.
The key thyroid hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine stay healthy using iodine in the food you eat. But your thyroid needs more than iodine to stay healthy, and I recommend getting iodine from kelp.
The Other Nutrients
The essential nutrients for thyroid health are iodine, selenium, zinc, magnesium and vitamin D. There are other nutrients that also play a role in thyroid health, such as iron and the B vitamins, and you can make sure you are providing your thyroid what it needs by regularly taking a quality multi-vitamin.
Your Thyroid
Your thyroid gland works with your pituitary gland and the hypothalamus inside of your brain. They literally communicate. Remember that my thyroid was damaged by aspartame, which penetrates inside of your brain and can damage your pituitary gland and hypothalamus.
If your thyroid hormones drop too low, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) will be released from your pituitary gland. If your thyroid hormones raise too high, TSH stops being released from your pituitary gland.
This is when you can be diagnosed with hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, or other conditions of the thyroid, like my Grave’s disease.
Determine WHY Your Thyroid Is Out Of Balance
If your thyroid is out of balance, there are things that you can initially do to restore its balance before you commit to taking a thyroid medication for the rest of your life, or even worse, have your thyroid removed.
- stop using all diet sweeteners;
- limit MSG and food additives/preservatives;
- get a hair analysis to see what toxins are being absorbed by your thyroid; toxins do make it malfunction;
- detox; your thyroid acts like a sponge, and it easily absorbs toxins;
- supplement with the primary thyroid nutrients, but make sure to determine first if you need them and if they are out of balance using a hair analysis.
See if this makes a difference in your thyroid health. Every cell in your body depends on it.
