No one can question that things are really wonky these days. Inflation and food shortages coming, they say. I am also hearing that baby formula may be hard to find.
I’m not writing this to debate breast-feeding as opposed to using baby formula, but I am here to let the mothers and grandmothers know that if it does get hard to find baby formula, you can make your own.
It would be wise to investigate and prepare, just in case.
Here is a baby formula ingredient list, which tells you everything required when making your own:
- Protein
- Fat
- Linoleic Acid
- Fat-Soluble Vitamins A, D, E, K
- B Vitamins: B6, B12, Niacin, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Folic Acid
- Vitamin C
- Calcium
- Phosphorus

I buy many of my supplements from purebulk.com. They are true to their name – they sell nutritional supplements in powdered, bulk form. I like using powdered vitamin supplements because they assimilate more efficiently. I put them in a blender with water and I add a packet of strawberry flavored Liquid IV electrolytes. (I buy mine at CostCo)
You can also add them to a fruit or coffee smoothie. And, you can use them to make your own baby formula.
To all the mommas out there, if you’re not nursing, consider stocking up on the powdered ingredients to make your own baby formula, just in case.
