If you want more energy and healthy nerves and muscles, supplement with chlorophyll – Nature’s green blood!
I always say: what works in Nature, surely works in man.
Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is the molecule that absorbs sunlight and uses its energy to synthesize carbohydrates from CO2 and water. This process is known as photosynthesis, which sustains the life processes of all plants.
And … since all animals and humans sustain health by eating plants, photosynthesis is the source of our life.
Healthy Benefits
I recommend supplementing with chlorophyll at least four days a week for these healthy benefits:
-
- Enhance energy
- Detoxify your liver
- Eliminate body odor and bad breath
- Clean your digestive tract
- Aide in the prevention of liver cancer
- Benefit all cancer therapy
- Help with anemia
- Aide in the elimination of mold from your body
Green Blood
Without chlorophyll, the “green blood” of plants, life as we know it would not exist. Chlorophyll is the plant pigment that gives the color to grass, leaves, and to the vegetable rainbow.
Chlorophyll plays an important role in the prevention of many cancers. Researchers in the early 1980s discovered that chlorophyll and related chemicals inhibited the ability of DNA-damaging chemicals to mutate in bacteria.
M.G. Ferruzzi, Ohio State University, was the first researcher to demonstrate the absorption of chlorophyll into the intestinal wall; hence, supporting the importance of chlorophyll as a health-promoting plant compound.
Colitis and Fibromyalgia
In a study by Virginia Commonwealth University’s R.E. Merchant and C.A. Andre, supplementation with chlorophyll-rich chlorella was shown to reduce high blood pressure, lower LDL (“bad” cholesterol), accelerate wound healing, and improve immune function in people suffering with colitis and fibromyalgia.
The researchers gave supplemental chlorella to 55 fibromyalgia patients, 33 with hypertension, and nine with ulcerative colitis. The results from Marchant’s study showed a 22 percent decrease in pain in patients with moderately severe fibromyalgia after two months of daily chlorella supplementation.
A study by Brazilian researcher, M.S. Miranda, showed that spirulina, rich in chlorophyll, phenolic acids, alpha-carotene and beta-carotene, demonstrated powerful free-radical antioxidant protection in test-tube models.
So, no more excuses for not getting your greens! Chlorophyll can be found in:
- chlorella
- blue-green algae
- spirulina
- kelp
- green barley
- wheat grass
- alfalfa
And here’s an interesting fact: when the chlorophyll in leaves decays in autumn, the green color is replaced by the oranges and reds of carotenoids.
Plants are healthy year round!
Chlorophyll Supplements
I highly recommend Liquid Chlorophyll 100 mg Spearmint by World Organics. World Organic Chlorophyll spearmint flavor is derived exclusively from high quality alfalfa leaves.
If you are low in copper, chlorophyll contains organic copper. I recommend liquid chlorophyll to help boost your copper levels for blood and nerve health, but first get a hair analysis before you start taking a new supplement to check what your levels are to make sure that you need extra copper!
Green blood with great breath – you can’t beat that!
