We’re going to get into some lego-body science here, and it may not be the most academic representation of a cellular process that keeps your immune system strong and helps with anti-aging, but it will give you a good way to visualize your structure of proteins – and THIS is life-saving.
Stick with me here and you’ll be amazed how simple this critical life function works. Make it super simple by doing this … it’s important you get plenty of protein everyday – vegan or carnivore. Protein is all about your genes, your DNA, and peptides.
I’m talking about protein and peptide structures in your cells that keep you alive – they’re like legos. Everyday, your body builds a lego structure using peptides to make protein. Protein is the end product of the decoding process that starts with your DNA.
Ever wonder why the Bill Gates’ of the world are obsessed with your genes and your DNA – the building blocks at the core of all human life? This is why lab meats, artificial sweeteners, seed oils, and processed foods will never provide the tools that your body needs to stay healthy.
As workhorses of each cell, proteins compose all the structural and energy elements in each cell, and they serve as the catalyst for virtually every biochemical reaction that occurs in your body.
DNA Legos
Protein is the end product that begins with your DNA. This miraculous function starts from a simple gene code.
Each gene in your DNA contains the code for your protein structure, unique to you. Not only are these proteins assembled with different amino acid sequences, but they also are held together by different bonds and create a variety of three-dimensional structures – this is what you can see.
The shape of these amino acid sequences depends directly on that amino acid sequence – this is why your eye is different from someone else’s eye … the sequence structure is unique to you.
Your body is building your health with a set of legos unlike anyone else’s.
Amino Acids
Let’s go down this rabbit hole a bit deeper …
The building blocks of proteins are the amino acids, which are small molecules that consist of an alpha carbon atom linked to amino groups that we call side chains.
Within a protein, multiple amino acids are linked together by peptide bonds forming a long chain. Peptide bonds form from a chemical reaction that extracts a water molecule that joins it to a neighboring amino acid. This sequence of amino acids produces the primary structure of a protein.
This is important because ….
Proteins are built from a set of twenty amino acids, each of which has a unique side chain. The side chains cannot complete formation if there are less than 8 amino acids available to work together.
The side chains have different chemistries – some are inactive and others have positive or negative charges. The chemistry of amino acid side chains is critical to your protein structure because these side chains bond with one another to hold your protein in a certain shape.
This is what makes you a unique individual – no other person is like you. Your body is made of your genes, your DNA, and amino acids, and these produce the proteins that create all the moving parts of your healthy, body function.
These are YOUR legos.
This is an extremely simplified example and may not be the best choice for the ultra scientific critic, but it works to understand these main points ….
- You need at least 8 essential amino acids to create protein; isolated amino acids, used in products like aspartame, are harmful to your health;
- It is important to provide the essential elements that your body needs to maintain its cellular health – amino acids, peptides, protein;
- Maintain good digestion so you can assimilate the healthy nutrients that you eat daily;
- Keep your body’s pH between 6.6 and 6.8;
- Maintain a healthy diet and supplement program.
